FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long have you been in business?
Winnie Forbes Photography was established in 2007. Winnie has been shooting professionally since 2005 but has been actively shooting since the early 90’s.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Winnie uses all digital, top-of-the-line, professional Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses. She also has a small Cannon and an old Polaroid camera used for fun.
Do you have a second photographer?
Winnie has an assistant photographer who does minimal second-shooting and can cover time periods when multiple angles are critical or when two important shots take place at the same time (most often when bride and groom are preparing for the big event). This photographer also assists with lighting and as needed to ensure your event is captured in all its glory.
How long does it take to get our products and images?
Online galleries are posted within six weeks of the wedding date. Proofs album and the digital files are available within nine weeks of the wedding date.
How many pictures will we recieve?
The number of photographs taken depends on many factors – hours of coverage, the number of guests, and type of event. Bare minimum is 600 images, but often it’s much, much, much higher.
Do we get to keep the digital negatives?
You will be provided the high-resolution digital files on DVD. You can make unlimited personal prints and copies for your friends and families.
Can you hold the date for me?
No date can be reserved until a retainer fee and a signed contract have been received. Bookings are on a first come/first served basis.
What if we have to cancel the wedding? Will I get our retainer back?
The retainer fee is non-refundable. The retainer guarantees that your wedding date is held exclusively for you. Once you’ve signed the contract Winnie turns down all other commissions for that date.
What happens if the photographer gets sick?
In the event that Winnie becomes sick enough that she is not physically capable of covering your wedding, she has a network of professional photographers in the Seattle area that she will contact to find a replacement.
What if we run overtime, will you stay?
If the client wishes Winnie to work overtime, they will be asked to initial an authorization form. Winnie recommends that the bride and groom delegate this responsibility to the day-of coordinator (or to a family member) so the bride and groom are free to enjoy their day without interruption. As a courtesy, these overtime hours will be billed to your home address after you return from your honeymoon.
Do we need to feed you at the reception?
A vendor meal is required for events four hours or longer. This meal does not need to be the same meal served to your guests, but it does need to be appetizing. Winnie prefers to be fed when the bride and groom are fed, so she can continue coverage right as the bride and groom are done with their meals. If no meal is provided, it is understood that the Photographer may leave the event to purchase a meal.
Can our family and friends take pictures with their cameras?
Family and friends are welcome to take any images they wish as long as they do not interfere with the creative process.
